[an error occurred while processing this directive] Big Baddies, or the Creatures that Made the \swear Command Useful

Back to Home

There are some critters in Clan Lord that are spoke of in hushed whispers, in fear that one could appear in their faces. Yes, the powerhouses of creatures is the focus of this chapter of the scroll. If you're like myself, you'll probibly use \swear as soon as these appear, then either a) run like hell, or b) try in vain to hit the creature, and get killed in one blow. I usually fall under b), as anyone who's ever been in one of my hunting parties can attest to.

My Notes on the Creature

Astral Guardian (a.k.a. that big blue ball that likes to kill newbies)

A good place to look for this creature is either in the Dark Temple or the Astral Plane. I havn't seen one anywhere else, but you never know. Also, these things are tough, with a lot of balance. So, don't give up when you seem to be whiffing a lot at it. Keep at it.

Darshar Liche (a.k.a. that big skull)

Another resident of the Dark Temple or the Astral Plane. Also another thing that I wouldn't like to meet in a dark alley (or a lit one, for that matter). Tip for Healers: If you hear that one of these are causing trouble, head to the scene. There's bound to be a big wall of fallen there. And for heaven's sake, healers, DON'T ATTACK IT, because the healers there have their hands full already. But, if you're a good healer-fighter, go for it.

Greymyr ( a.k.a. wtf? OR that big stone guy who likes to throw rocks)

If you're really looking for one, either head to Greymyr Village, or start bugging a Ancient. They'll be happy to conjuer one up after about 100 requests for a boomerang. When attacking it, be wary of the rocks it throws about every 5 seconds. The rocks are NOT limited to just one person. As a example, if two people are standing side-by-side, and a rock hits one, both have a high probibility of falling.

Tree Giant (of the Snow variety)

This beast can be found in the cold and snowy regions of the CL world. More likely to be found in the Glacier. Best way to kill it is to swarm over it with many exiles. Nice thing about killing these are that you get a free log, and also coins, that you can use to help construction in town.
UPDATE: The snow variety of the TG's are extremely rare now, since the mirrors are closed. But, you can find plenty of them in the Tree Giant Breeding Grounds. But be careful, recent breeds of the TG's have been spotted with increased intelligence.

Durandal (a.k.a. Me, and Hey-what's-that-never-seen-it-before-AAAH!!!)

This is usually what I look like after meeting up with any of the creatures on this scroll.

Megamouth (a.k.a. Moby Dick)

Good lord! This was from a special event by the gods, and I'm not sure if we'll see this again. But, that could be a good thing, also. This thing is NASTY. If you hear about this thing being spotted in the sea, don't pay it a visit unless you're in a LARGE party.

Darshar Warship

The Puddleby Navy got its' workout with this one! Nasty sonofa (as you can imagine).

Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Big Feral

I don't know the creature's actual name, because the sketcher who got this picture for me didn't stick around to ask.
